PERDIRJEN SDPPI NO 4 TAHUN 2024

Hope this announcement finds you in good health. We’re writing to inform that on August 12th, 2024, SDPPI just issued a new regulation called “PERDIRJEN SDPPI NOMOR 4 TAHUN 2024”. This regulation was issued to revoke “Director General of Postal and Informatic Resources and Equipment (DIRJEN SDPPI) Regulation Number 161 of 2019”, or usually called as “PERDIRJEN SDPPI NO 161 TAHUN 2019”. For those who are not familiar, “PERDIRJEN SDPPI NO 161 TAHUN 2019” was the technical standard of Short-Range Devices in Indonesia that was issued and started to be valid from July 18th, 2019, until its revocation date on August 16th, 2024.
As we know, on May 13th, 2024, SDPPI issued a new regulation called Decree of Minister of Communication and Information of The Republic of Indonesia Number 260 of 2024 or known as “KEPMEN KOMINFO NO 260 TAHUN 2024”, which concerns about technical standard or Short-Range Devices in Indonesia. However, this regulation will be valid in 90 days from its issuance date. Which means that KEPMEN KOMINFO NO 260 TAHUN 2024 will be declared as valid from August 11th, 2024, onward.
Inside of KEPMEN KOMINFO NO 260 TAHUN 2024, there is no clause stating that this regulation was issued to replace PERDIRJEN SDPPI NO 161 TAHUN 2019. As a result, there was a lot of questions asking about whether or not these two regulations will be applicable at the same time, and whether or not these regulations will overlap each other. Now these questions are answered with the issuance of PERDIRJEN SDPPI NOMOR 4 TAHUN 2024 which revokes PERDIRJEN SDPPI NO 161 TAHUN 2019. With the issuance of this regulation, it’s clear that Indonesia will only have one applicable SRD standard, which is KEPMEN KOMINFO NO 260 TAHUN 2024.

Then, what’s the implication of PERDIRJEN SDPPI NOMOR 4 TAHUN 2024? As we can see from the second clause, this regulation started to be valid on August 12th, 2024. Therefore, started from this date, previous SRD standard which is PERDIRJEN SDPPI NO 161 TAHUN 2019 is declared as invalid. And as consequences, SDPPI certificate applications using PERDIRJEN SDPPI NO 161 TAHUN 2019 as reference will be rejected if it is submitted from August 12th, 2024, onward. Starting from August 12th, 2024, onward, all SDPPI applications for Short Range Devices must use the new KEPMEN KOMINFO NO 260 TAHUN 2024 as technical reference, both technical reference on application documents and technical reference on test reports.
Although at the moment when we’re writing this article SDPPI hasn’t released the NO 4 TAHUN 2024 in their website, here we attached the original version for your reference.
