C-Channel Steel Sizes and Its Uses

C-Channel Steel Sizes and Its Uses – Have you ever wondered about the C-channel steel sizes and its functions in construction?

C-channel steel, also known as c profiles steel, is one of the building materials commonly used in various construction projects.

The uniqueness of its shape that resembles the letter “C” makes it a popular choice in the construction industry.

Generally speaking, the size of the C channel steel can vary depending on the needs of the construction project.

The commonly used dimensions include the height, width, and thickness of C canal iron which must be fitted to the types of construction that uses C-channel steel.

So, by knowing the right size, you will be able to design structures more accurately and efficiently. So what are the C-channel Steel sizes? Let’s get the information below!

C-Channel Steel Sizes

C-Channel Steel Sizes and Its Uses

Generally speaking, there are 6 types of c-channel sizes that range from 60 mm in height dimension up to 200 mm.

1. CNP 60

The CNP 60 channel iron with the dimensions of 60 mm height, 30 mm width, and varying thickness, is generally used as a light roof support element or ceiling frame in small to medium construction projects. Its smaller size makes it ideal for applications that do not require very high structural strength.

2. CNP 75

With dimensions of 75 mm height, width of 40 mm, and variable thickness, CNP 75 channel iron is suitable for roof supports, door frames, and windows. Its medium strength makes it a good choice for light to medium construction, providing a decent stability.

3. CNP 100

The next one on our C-Channel steel sizes article is the CNP 100 with 100 mm in height and 50 mm in width also with varying thickness.

It is usually used as a roof support, wall structure frame, and frame construction that requires higher durability as its larger size provides additional stability for heavier construction projects.

4. CNP 125

With dimensions of 125 mm high, 65 mm width, and varying thicknesses, CNP 125 channel iron is ideal for use as a support for larger building structures.

5. CNP 150

The CNP 150 channel iron, with a height of 150 mm, a width of 75 mm, and varying thicknesses, is suitable for use in large construction such as warehouses or industrial buildings.

Its large size and strength make the CNP150 channel iron the best choice for construction projects that require extra durability and stability.

6. CNP 200

The CNP 200 channel iron, with its dimensions 200 mm high, 100 mm wide, and varying thickness, is suitable for large and heavy construction projects such as high-rise structures or large-scale industrial infrastructure.

Its very large size provides maximum strength and stability to meet the demands of large projects.

With a lot of c-channel steel sizes and its uses, it is worth noting that the c-channel steel is one of many products that needs to be certified by the SNI certification to ensure its safety and quality.

The c-channel or c profile steel sets of regulations is clearly stated in SNI 07-0138-1987 and also SNI 07-4016-1996.
