Hope you are doing great. Today, we’re writing here to announce you about the new policy applied in SDPPI Lab. This regulation is related to the products that have AC cord as a connector between the devices to the power source.
Starting from now on, all products which have AC Cord that connects the device to the power source are mandatory to get through EMI testing along with RF testing in SDPPI Lab. This new policy is applied for all products with direct AC cord as a connection between devices and the power source. As long as the AC cord is connected to the product directly without getting trough the DC adaptor first, or in this case, the electricity current is AC and not converted to DC before getting into the device, these products will need to get through the EMI testing first before doing the RF testing. Some examples of product that are classified in this classification are TV, Printer, Monitor, etc.
This policy about EMI testing has already existed before, but it just applied in the recent time. The main reason of this application is that now SDPPI LAB already has the measurements equipment for Electrical Disturbance testing, so the application of this policy becomes possible.
Then, what happen to the on-going application that was submitted before this new policy was applied? In this case, it depends to SDPPI Lab itself. If they charge the EMI testing fee for the AC cord, then we will revise the quotation. But if they don’t, the quotation will remain the same.
