SNI Certification For Motorcycle Helmet

So what are the quality controls that must be met to a motorcycle helmet having an SNI certification in Indonesia?
1. Shell Material
The shell serves as the outermost layer of the helmet which plays a crucial role in protecting the rider’s head in case of an impact.
All SNI Certified helmets must be made from a hard and solid non-metallic material that can withstand a huge amount of impact.
The height of the helmet must be at least 114mm from atop of the helmet to the horizontal plane through the ear holes and the bottom of the eyeball holder.
The circumference of the inner circle of the helmet is S (between 500 mm – 540 mm, M (540 mm – 580 mm), L (580 mm – 620 mm), XL (more than 620 mm).
This outer layer of the helmet also must have a temperature resistance that can withstand temperature of 0-55 degree celsius in an open space.
Other than that it must withstand the effects of ultraviolet radiation, gasoline, oil, soap, water and other cleaning agents.
2. Supporting Material
The supporting material of SNI Certified Helmets like the strap must be water resistance, temperature resilience and also weather resistance.
This ensures the strap to last much longer thus making the helmet much safer over a long period of time.
The chain strap must be at least 20mm in width and must function as the helm strap as it is used on the rider’s head.

3. Inner Material
All SNI Certified helmets must ensure not just the safety aspects of its user but also comfortable aspects of its user.
All inner materials must be using skin-friendly materials that are gentle and non irritating to give its user an unwavering comfort.
These soft, breathable materials prevent skin irritation, even during long rides in hot and humid conditions.
The impact absorber consists of a shock absorbing layer mounted on the inner surface of the shell, at least 10 mm thick and a helmet mesh or other construction that functions like a helmet mesh.
Additionally, the materials are resistant to sweat, oil, and grease, ensuring that your helmet remains comfortable and fresh even after exposure to these substances.
