Types of Vacuum Cleaner – Remember the backbreaking chore of scrubbing every nook and cranny? Those days are gone thanks to the magic of vacuum cleaners!

Before we explore the different types and find your perfect match, let’s dive into how these cleaning champions work and make your life a breeze.

How Does Vacuum Cleaner Work?

5 Types of Vacuum Cleaner

The main purpose of vacuum cleaners are to ensure household cleanliness, battling dust bunnies and debris with powerful suction.

This suction is created by a motor, similar to what makes a blender whirl. The motor spins a fan, which rapidly pulls air out of the vacuum cleaner’s chamber.

This creates a low-pressure zone, essentially “vacuuming” up dust, dirt, and pet hair from floors, furniture, and even car interiors.

These captured particles are then deposited into a dust bag or canister within the vacuum, keeping them contained.

But that’s not all! Vacuum cleaners are equipped with filters that act as guardians, preventing dirt from entering the motor and ensuring only clean air gets released back into your home.

This filtration process is particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers, as it reduces the circulation of dust and allergens in the air.

5 Types of Vacuum Cleaner

1. Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Upright vacuums, a classic and popular choice, are designed for ease of use. With a simple tilt-and-push motion, they’re ergonomic and intuitive.

The motorized brush tackles dirt with powerful suction, making them ideal for cleaning large carpets.

A built-in sensor ensures a deep clean by effectively sucking debris from carpet fibers. These vacuums often have a separate setting for bare floors that disengages the brush roll, preventing scratches.

While height adjustment allows for cleaning under furniture, some models might require attachments to reach tight corners.

It’s important to note that uprights can be heavier to maneuver compared to other types of vacuums.

2. Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Canister vacuums, the multi-tasking masters of clean, feature a long hose and a separate canister on wheels.

This design makes them lightweight and versatile for cleaning a variety of surfaces.

From hard floors and carpets to furniture, cars, and even walls and ceilings, a canister vacuum can tackle it all with the help of its many attachments.

Think of it as a cleaning toolbox on wheels! This versatility comes at a cost, though, as canister vacuums tend to be pricier and bulkier to store compared to other models.

3. Stick Vacuum Cleaner

Think of stick vacuums as the lean, mean cleaning machines for everyday messes.

These lightweight wonders, shaped like a broom, are perfect for quick pick-ups and navigating tight spaces around furniture.

Their slim design makes them easy to store too! While they lack the deep-cleaning power of some vacuums, their motors provide enough suction for hard floors, light carpets, and everyday spills in kitchens and bathrooms.

Many have a setting to turn off the brush roll for bare floors, and some even convert into handheld vacuums for extra versatility.

However, keep in mind that stick vacuums typically use dirt cups instead of bags and may have shorter battery life compared to other models.

4. Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

The next one is a handheld vacuum cleaner, as its name implies these are the types of vacuum cleaners that are smaller in comparison to other vacuum cleaners.

This compact, portable wonder is perfect for one-handed operation. They come in corded and cordless options, some with a rotating brush for tougher jobs.

Often used as an accessory to upright vacuums, handheld vacuums are lifesavers for tight spaces and hard-to-reach areas like car interiors, furniture, stairs, and corners.

They’re all-stars at tackling crumbs, spills, pet hair, and post-child-play messes.

Plus, they’re typically the most budget-friendly option. However, remember, they can’t replace a full-size vacuum for general floor cleaning.

5. Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

Meet the robotic vacuum cleaner, your lazy cleaning companion! This high-tech marvel uses sensors to navigate your home and clean all by itself.

Simply choose a setting and press a button on the remote, and off it goes, tackling corners, tiles, carpets, and even wood floors – all without supervision.

These compact wonders ditch the dust bags and operate quietly, but they do require regular charging since they’re cordless.

The ultimate convenience comes at a price, though, as robotic vacuums tend to be more expensive than other types.

Those are the 5 types of vacuum cleaner! Before you choose the right one for your next cleaning companion, it’s also important to consider one thing. that is the SNI certification for your vacuum cleaner

Like other products that are sold or distributed in Indonesia, vacuum cleaners also need to be SNI certified before its distribution.

This is to ensure the safety aspects and also the feasibility of the vacuum cleaner that is about to be distributed in Indonesia.
