The air filter is one of the components inside an air conditioning device whose function is to filter the air that enters the system and turn it into cleaner and allergy-free air.

In line with its function, the air filter is so important and can optimize how the AC works to be better, so the power consumption is also minimal. 

This is because when the filter is dirty and blocked, your air conditioner has to work harder and consume a lot more power.

So, make sure you clean the air filter regularly, at least every 1-3 months. Meanwhile, to clean this air filter you can also do it yourself at home by following the steps below:

  • Open the AC body, then take off some of the filters available inside the unit.
  • Clean the dust inside in the air conditioning unit using a vacuum cleaner or other tools.

  • Next step, rinse the air filter with water slowly, then dry it.
  • Finally, reinstall the already dried air filter into the unit.

2. Avoid Overloading

Overloading can cause your AC component to wear off faster and make its life-span much shorter than it should be.

Avoid prolonged use of AC without giving it a chance to break everyday. Also avoid using it at maximum power because it can make the component inside your AC unit overloading thus shortening its lifespan.

3. Check the Freon Level

The next way to take care of the air conditioner is to check the freon regularly. Generally, this is done with a professional air conditioning technician or service in a period of three months.

4. Schedule a Professional Maintenance
