How long does it really take to get DJID certificate via paperwork process?

After previously we explained about the lead time for DJID certification process using local testing process, now we will talk about more detail the certification process using paperwork or document evaluation process that uses the test reports documents issued by foreign test houses [https://www.dimulti.id/conditions-when-paperwork-application-is-allowable-in-indonesia-sdppi-approval/]. It is another certification procedure that DJID provides to ease the applicants who needs to get the certification process faster.
In this writing, we will give you an illustration regarding the document preparation, submission process, advantages and disadvantages. So, I hope after reading this, you can have an additional reference to decide which process that you will take for DJID certification process.

  1. Documents Preparation
Basically, on this beginning part, the preparation for the documents are quite the same as we have talked about before, from the certification forms, product’s specification, product’s photo, Appointment letters, test reports have the same preparing treatment with the testing process.
However, for this part I will be more in detail regarding the test report documents. On the inquiring stage from our customers, they usually send us the test report documents in advance for us to check. This is the key item for this paperwork process to make go smoothly.

Here are the items in the test report that we must check:

  • Testing lab name, address, and its testing scope
DJID has just issued the updated foreign-recognized lab list for this paperwork process that you can check in the following link [https://www.dimulti.id/blog/kepmen-komdigi-no-13-tahun-2025/]. So, only the test reports which are issued from these listed labs can be used for the paperwork process.
In regards to the lab address, we also need to check the test lab address in the test report. We are aware that some foreign test labs do have several registered address, but in the lab list, DJID may only list not all registered address of each foreign test lab.
In addition to the testing scope, the new lab list also indicates each foreign lab’s testing scopes. Some lab may have the complete testing scopes, but DJID may not list them all.
  • Test facility address
The test lab’s address and the test facility address are almost identical but they are slightly different. testing facilities maybe located in several areas in one registered test lab’s address. As we see in DJID list, one lab address can have several testing facility addresses.
Another important information that you should know that DJID will not accept the test report which listed the testing facility address that is not listed or using CTF [customer testing facility].
  • Testing items
Although most of the existing technical regulations which are issued by DJID are taking many references from the international standards like EN, CISPR, or FCC, we still have to check the test items in the test report files to make sure if they can fulfill the requirement from the local standard.
  • Digital Signature Availability
The test report file is issued in .pdf format, this digital signature can be checked when we open the test report file in the signature panel. We should check whether the signature verification is a person from the lab or not.
  • Testing applicant information
Although it is possible the local company name becomes the testing applicant at foreign test lab, but the most common case we often find the test report applicant is the foreign manufacturing company. In this case, you should prepare permission letter from the test report owner to use it for DJID certification process.

After these items in the test reports and other documents are confirmed by the customer, then we can continue to the submission process.

  1. Submission process
The submission process for this paperwork is also similar with the process that we start via local testing process. However, for the paperwork process, the lead time starts at this stage. Although the uploading process is the same, we still have to pay more attention when submitting the test report data. In this section, there is a designed place to choose the lab name, testing facility address, test report owner information and the field to upload the permission letter.
After all documents are uploaded and submitted, the evaluation process until we get the certification invoice from DJID will take around 5-8 workdays. The remaining process are exactly the same with the certification process using local testing process.
  1. advantages and disadvantages of the paperwork process
    Advantages:
  • shorter lead time
  • faster certification process
  • no need sample for testing at local lab
  • fully online process

Disadvantages

  • more expensive certification cost
  • the foreign lab list will be updated every 6 months
  • test item may not fulfil the local regulation requirements
  • limited skill and technical knowledge of the product

Finally, in conclusion for this article. The paperwork process has much shorter lead time than the local testing process. It only takes around 8 work days to complete.
