Tips for the newcomer local applicant companies for DJID certifications

You’re a new established company? Are you still confused of what you need to do to get DJID certificate for your products?
Don’t worry, we heard you!
We often find some new customers who are mixed up and terribly confused when they are going to apply DJID certification with us. They are desperately being chased by the tight shipping and marketing schedule from the principal, they do not have any technical support in the office, They are misled by many incoming information,
Here a few tips that would be useful for you.

  1. OSS Registration. [https://oss.go.id/]
It has been a commonly a first step when you are establishing a company in Indonesia whether it is a “PT” or a “CV” you must register OSS first. OSS stands for one single submission is a business licensing system that is electronically integrated with all state ministries/institutions and regional governments (Pemda) in Indonesia.
From the above explanation, you can find the integrated licensing systems with the ministries. DJID is one of the licensing services provided by the Ministry of Communication and Digital under the directorate general of digital infrastructure.
In this registration process, you will receive the username and password at the beginning then you need to input all of your company establishment data from your notary.
So, there is no way you can get DJID certificate without registering OSS first. In this website, you choose the licensing service for telecommunication device certification to get the ID license number that this will be used for your certification application in DJID’s website.
  2. Creating an account in DJID’s website [https://sertifikasi.postel.go.id/]
Practically, in the above part, you actually can already start the application for your product’s certification in DJID’s system by only logging in via OSS website. However, you will find a difficulty when you need to check the application status regularly.
After you choose the licensing service for telecommunication device certification in OSS website, you will be diverted to DJID’s website which is the home page is already logged in. You can find the username in the homepage but not the password.
Sounds funny, right? Yes, in my opinion this incomplete integration system between OSS and DJID. Originally, before our government has obliged all law-entity companies to register OSS, you can register DJID [formerly SDPPI] account individually. That is why I created this topic individually in different paragraph.
Then how we can get the password, it is simply you just need to call DJID’s hotline no. 159. Their customer service will help you to reopen the password internally from their system.
Once you already have the account for this website, you can check your application regularly. Besides, it is useful when you are going to assigned someone from your office or some certification agencies. They do not need to login to the OSS website anymore.
  3. Prepare your MoU or Agreement with the brand holder company
Another essential part is to have Memorandum of understanding or to create any agreement with the brand holder company. Besides this document is used as one of the certification process requirements, it also can be used as your business activity perimeter, determining the basic prices, distributor exclusivity, or etc.
  4. Knowing your mass production and shipment schedule for sales
It is important that you have to acknowledge the time table of mass production and shipment schedule with the manufacturer or principal. So, you can adjust the best timing when to apply the certification process. The certification itself usually takes 4-5 weeks if it is processed using sample testing process at the local lab or it may take around 10 working days if you apply the certification using the test reports issued by the foreign test labs.
  5. Required documents preparation and testing samples preparation
Last but not least, this is the crucial part of getting your product certified by DJID. Here’s the list of documents you must provide when applying the certification process.
    • Product specification [preferred to have its wireless or radio frequency information]
    • Product external photos
    • Testing manuals or instructions
    • MoU/Agreements with the brand owner company
    • Test reports from the appropriate foreign test labs [If apply via paperwork]
    • Product detail information [product name, trademark, model, marketing name, factory information, HS code]

If you are going to apply using local testing process, I have explained how to prepare the samples in my previous writings [https://www.dimulti.id/getting-to-know-about-electromagnetic-compatibility-testing/][https://www.dimulti.id/getting-to-know-about-radio-frequency-testing/].
