Regulatory Body of Indonesia Type Approval Certification process is Directorate Geneal of Digital Infrastructure or usually known as DJID. That’s why the telecommunication product certification issued by DJID is called “DJID certificate”. In the past, we may be familiar with some other names such as DG POSTEL (Directorate of Postal and Telecommunication) or DG SDPPI (Directorate General of Posts and Telecommunications). These are the same as DJID, they are the same institutions which later on would be renamed to DJID.
Structurally, Directorate General of Digital Infrastructure (DJID) is under Minister of Communication of and Digital Affair (KOMDIGI) of the republic of Indonesia. Under this directorate general, there are 5 other directorates, namely:
- Directorate of Strategy and Policy of Digital Infrastructure
- Directorate of Radio Frequency Spectrum Arrangement, Satellite Orbits and Digital Infrastructure Standardization
- Directorate of Digital Infrastructure Service
- Directorate of Digital Infrastructure Accelleration
- Directorate of Digital Infrastructure Control
With all those elements, DJID are actively making policy and regulation related to telecommunication. Besides, they also conduct product certification practice by issuing DJID certificates. Therefore, if you’re manufacturer, importer, or distributor who want to distribute or export your telecommunication product to Indonesia, obtaining DJID certificate prior to the actual sales activity is a must.
