One big question when starting approval process is about the sample. This is because product approval is basically all about the compliance aspect of a product against the applied standard. And this can be proven by doing test on the product. So, no wonder if question about sample always appears at the beginning of the process.

However, as mentioned earlier, when processing Australia Type Approval for the RF and telecom products, the applicable application approach is SDoC or paperwork. This means that during the process, there will be no local test performed in Australia. The applicant only needs to submit RF and EMC test reports issued by international test lab, which are usually already owned by the manufacturer. Then, these reports will be evaluated by ACMA to determine whether the products already comply with the standard or not.

Therefore, because there is no local test performed in Australia, applicant doesn’t need to provide sample. The process is completely done through evaluation process by evaluating the existing RF and EMC test report from EN or FCC standards.

Why We Care

As mentioned before, sample plays an important role in an approval process. Many people focus on sample too much at the beginning of the approval process. However, it must be noted that not all countries require to do local test. Hence, in these countries, providing sample is not required. Sometimes, focusing on sample for the country that doesn’t need to do local test sometimes can waste too much time. That’s why when processing Australia Type Approval with us, we will focus on the correctness of the documents to ensure the application is accepted without any unnecessary rejection.
