Expiration of KEPDIRJEN SDPPI No 109 Tahun 2024

Dear Customer and Friends. This blogpost is written to inform you regarding the short notice that was just published by SDPPI on January 2nd, 2025. This short notice talks about the expiration of KEPDIRJEN SDPPI No 109 Tahun 2024. This is the regulation that concerns about recognition of foreign test laboratories for the purpose of telecommunications equipment certification in Indonesia.

Check out SDPPI short notice about the expiration of KEPDIRJEN SDPPI No 109 Tahun 2024 in this link.

As we know, at the time this blogpost being published, there’s still no new regulation issued by SDPPI regarding the recognized foreign test laboratories. Meanwhile, the latest foreign test laboratories recognition regulation, which is the Director General Decree Number 109 Tahun 2024, has met its expiration date on December 31, 2024. With this regulation being expired, there’s a big question on whether or not paperwork application based on test reports issued by recognized foreign lab is still acceptable, especially because the legal basis of this practice is already expired.

Due to this matter, SDPPI has issued a formal notification in their website. This notification is to announce that paperwork application based on test reports issued by recognized foreign laboratories is still acceptable under certain conditions.

Follow Up Policy Upon the expiration of KEPDIRJEN SDPPI No 109 Tahun 2024

Referring to the new SDPPI’s notification, it says that test reports from recognized foreign test laboratories which are issued from January 1st, 2025, onward, at this time being, are still not acceptable to do certification process through paperwork approach. This condition will remain the same until new foreign test laboratories recognition regulation is issued.

And then, according to the regulation of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Number 5 of 2024 about determination of telecommunications equipment test centers, test reports that are already issued before January 1st, 2025, are still acceptable for paperwork application submitted within the next 6 (six) months. Therefore, if the test reports are issued by recognized foreign laboratory before January 1st, 2025, these are still acceptable to do paperwork until the end of June 2025.

That’s all we need to inform regarding the expiration of Expiration of KEPDIRJEN SDPPI No 109 Tahun 2024 and the follow-up policy about it. Hopefully, the new regulation regarding foreign test laboratories recognition can be issued in the near future.
