Types of Washing Machines

1. Top Load Washing Machine

The first one being the top load washing machines, as the name implies, top load washers have a lid on top that opens to the compartment where washing takes place.

This type of washing machine also has several varieties.

  • Agitator Washer: Some top loaders feature an agitator, a central post with fins that rotates back and forth to scrub clothes and remove dirt.
  • Impeller Washers: Instead of an agitator post, this type of washer uses a low-profile disc called an impeller that spins to create friction between clothes for cleaning. This allows for slightly larger capacities in some impeller washers because the impeller takes up less space than the agitator.
  • 2 in 1 Agitator and Impeller Washers: These washing machines boast a unique 2-in-1 design with a removable agitator and a built-in impeller. This gives you the flexibility to customize your wash cycle. You can choose to use the agitator for heavy-duty cleaning or remove it for a gentler wash with the impeller, maximizing space for bulky items.

This shift has led manufacturers to equip them with features that make them more user-friendly and convenient for everyday household laundry needs.
