Over time, it starts to become inefficient. The lifespan of an AC is often determined by how often we perform maintenance and the climate we live in.

However, an AC that is regularly maintained or serviced will last longer than an AC that is rarely serviced.

In this article, we will discuss cases where even though the AC is maintained regularly, it can also have problems over time.

Here are 7 of the most common signs that your air conditioner needs to be replaced should consider replacing your AC unit.

1. Blowing Warm Air

No one buys an AC unit just to look stylish without using it. Air conditioners are designed to ensure your family’s comfort during the hot and humid summers.

In the hottest of times, you need your AC to provide refreshingly cool air.

If your air conditioner is not blowing cool air or even warm air, contact an HVAC technician immediately. They will help check and fix the problem to get your AC working properly again.

2. Little Air Blows Out of Vents

Your air conditioner may need to be replaced if during use, little or no cold air is produced. This could be an indication of a problem with the compressor or other important components.

We recommend that you check the air filter first as a first step. However, for more complex issues, it’s best to contact a professional technician immediately.

3. Leaking

Some types of air conditioners discharge condensation water outside the house through the drain, and this is normal.

However, the AC unit should remain dry both when it is on and when it is off. If you notice any leaks or water dripping from inside the AC unit into the house, it is a sign that you may need to replace it.

But did you know that the AC needs to be certified before being sold and distributed in Indonesia?

Yup, the AC is one of the many products that are mandatory to be certified by the SNI certification.

This is because the risk of an air conditioner might be concerning for the Indonesian consumers, as the air conditioner that is not properly manufactured can cause a failure and can even be dangerous for its users.

The air conditioner that is about to be distributed in Indonesia must undergo a series of tests to determine its quality and safety.

After all of those tests have passed and the air conditioner is met with the requirements that have been set, the air conditioner is ready to be distributed and sold in the Indonesian market.

For the air conditioner and other household electrical devices, the regulation is clearly stated in SNI IEC 19-6713-2002.
