IMDA classified the mandatory products into five classifications according to the application type. Here are the list of those five types of application and the products covered by it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enhanced Simplified Equipment Registration (ESER)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Short range or low power devices\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CT0 and DECT cordless phone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>446MHz portable radio (PMR446) and 446MHz multi-channel portable radio (MCR446) at less than 500mW<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alarm, RFID, radio-detection, on-site paging and vehicle radar systems, remote controls, telecommand, telemetry, wireless microphone and video transmitter, wireless LAN, Bluetooth and non-specific short-range devices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complex or multi-line equipment\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PABX, KTS, multi-line system, voice messaging system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ISDN basic access, primary rate access and NT1 equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Powerline Communications (PLC) home networking equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coin phone or payphone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrated receiver decoders for use with 2nd generation digital terrestrial television broadcasting system (DVB-T2 IRD). Examples include:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Receiver set-top box<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrated Digital TV (IDTV)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-vehicle receiver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Residential gateway\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Home router<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simplified Equipment Registration (SER)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mobile terminals\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3G or LTE or 5G cellular mobile terminal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Global Mobile Personal Communication Satellite (GMPCS) terminals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Broadband access equipment\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) modem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cable modem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coaxial Cable Home Networking (CCHN) Equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General Equipment Registration (GER): This is the type of application specialized for equipment that has a high potential of causing interference to other telecommunication devices or un-stabilized new technologies.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Land Mobile Radio (LMR).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mobile or Internet of Things (IoT) base stations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wireless Broadband Access (WBA).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internet of Things (IoT).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TV White Space Devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dedicated Short-Range Communications in Intelligent Transport Systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ultra-Wideband (UWB).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short Range Devices, where the operation requires IMDA approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General Equipment Registration by Certification Bodies (GER-CB)<br>You may register any type of equipment under GER-CB unless they are prohibited telecommunication equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirmation of Conformity (COFC)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Telephone (standard, multi-feature, image, data or switching).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Line interface \u2013 cordless phone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Telephone ancillary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Auto-dialer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Auto answering or recording set.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Caller identification equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security alarm system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facsimile transceiver or fax modem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voice band modem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EFTPOS or CCAT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital leased circuit equipment.<br>Tip: If you are not sure whether you should apply for COFC, you may contact us at info@imda.gov.sg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why We Care<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Identifying whether or not the product we&#8217;re importing or selling to Singapore needs IMDA approval is important.
