Pursuant to Act on Organization to Assign Radio Frequency and to Regulate the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Services B.E. 2553 (2010), the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is an independent state regulatory body that functions in managing and regulating radio frequency spectrum, broadcasting, television, telecommunications, satellite, and radiocommunications business operations in Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Section 27 of the Act on the Organization to Assign Radio Frequency and to Regulate the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Services B.E. 2553 and its amendment, the NBTC have some authorities and duties as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Formulate radio frequency spectrum master plan and national radio frequency allocation table.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Determine radio frequencies for broadcasting, television, radio communications, and telecommunications services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prescribe characteristics and categories of broadcasting, television, and telecommunications services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>License and regulate the use of radio frequencies and radiocommunications equipment according to the criteria and conditions specified by the NBTC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>License and regulate the operation of broadcasting, television, and telecommunications services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtain and maintain the rights to access the satellite orbit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NBTC Office has divided the type approval license of radiocommunications equipment into three classes: Class A, Class B and SDoC. Here are the different of each class for Thailand type approval:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Class A: Radiocommunications equipment must meet NBTC Class A standards by doing registration to NBTC Office. Equipment Class A include drones, wireless microphones, vehicle radar and satellite communication equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Class B: Radiocommunications equipment must meet NBTC Class B standards by doing certification to NBTC Office. Equipment Class B include cellular land mobile radio and mobile equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SDoC: Radiocommunications equipment must meet NBTC standards, but do not required to do registration or certification. Suppliers must submit a declaration of conformity to NBTC Office. Products SDoC include WiFi, Bluetooth, RFID, NFC, and SRD equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why We Care<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Navigating the correct regulatory body when doing type approval certification is very important before starting the whole process.
