NBTC Office will conduct testing using the principle of sample testing or type testing, meaning that the submitted telecommunications equipment are tested as samples of the same model as those manufactured or imported. The local testing in Thailand will use the testing methods specified by the NBTC in the technical standards for telecommunications equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even though local testing method is available for Thailand type approval, but doing testing in Thailand is still not preferable due to expensive testing cost and longer lead time. Thailand type approval can be processed under paperwork method for all equipment class. In general, the NBTC Office can accept foreign test reports based on common international standards such as CE or FCC standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The type approval process in Thailand is quite flexible because both local testing and paperwork-based methods are available. However, each type approval method has its own advantages. Local testing is considered more complex, but it is more easily accepted by the NBTC Office. Meanwhile, the paperwork-based method is considered easier and simpler than doing local testing in Thailand, but the test results must comply with the NBTC’s technical standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
