Promoting Heart Health<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Palm oil has been identified as an ingredient that has the potential to provide protection against heart disease.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Palm oil consumption can have positive effects on risk factors associated with heart disease, such as lowering blood levels of LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and increasing levels of HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research suggests that palm oil may help improve blood lipid profiles, which in turn may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is shown in a 3 month study that was published in 2016 that evaluated the cholesterol-lowering effects of palm oil derived from a hybrid of <em>Elaeis Guineensis<\/em> and <em>Elaeis Oleifera<\/em> trees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this study, participants consumed 25 mL (equivalent to 2 tablespoons) of olive oil or hybrid palm oil daily.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Findings from the study showed a 15% reduction in LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) levels in both groups.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And also, based on these results, the researchers propose that this hybrid palm oil can be considered a \u201ctropical equivalent of olive oil\u201d due to its similar effects in lowering bad cholesterol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Supporting_Brain_Health\"><\/span>2.
